Reanimaton Library Carpenter St Branch
In March and April 2012, 186 Carpenter is hosting a branch of the Reanimation Library.
The Reanimation Library is a small, independent public library based in Brooklyn, NY. It is a collection of books that have fallen out of routine circulation and been acquired for their visual content. Outdated and discarded, they are given new life as a resource for artists, writers, cultural archeologists, and other interested parties at the library.
In March and April, a branch of the library will be in residence at 186 Carpenter, a storefront on the West Side of Providence that presents arts programming. Workshops and events are free and open to the public; open hours are another way to access the collection.

One or the Other
with founder Andrew Beccone
and Mining the Collection Opening
March 31
6-9PM
An experiment in collective decision-making. Andrew Beccone of the Reanimation Library will present the option of one of two talks: One will provide a fairly straightforward account of the conception, development, and work of the library; the other will be assembled entirely from randomly selected library texts and images. Each option will reveal essential aspects of the library, but in significantly different ways. Failure is possible, as is success.
